Bhopal, February 18: In a shameful act, a Central Police Reserve Force (CRPF) martyr’s widow was duped of Rs eight lakh in Madhya Pradesh. The incident came to light at a time when the entire country was shocked over the martyrdom of 40 CRPF jawans. Om Prakash Mardania of Shahpur village in Sehore along with four others was martyred in a terror attack in a camp in Srinagar in 2013. According to a report published in The Times of India, on February 11, a man a man impersonating as a CRPF personnel visited Mardania's house. He introduced himself as Mishri Lal Meena. The accused told Komal that he had been sent by the security force for checking the wellbeing of the family. As per the report, he told the woman that the CRPF would be sending an additional Rs 34 lakh and for this, she needed to withdraw Rs 8.5 lakh that was already in her bank account. Mumbai Man Calls ‘RBI Helpline’ Number, Gets Duped of Rs 48,000.

Both went to the bank, where Komal withdrew money and handed over to the accused after which he fled. A complaint was registered in the case and the police started an investigation. The CRPF is also helping the police in the investigation.
