Sonepat, September 20: The son of martyred Border Security Force (BSF) Head Constable Narender Kumar has demanded action from the government after his father was mutilated by Pakistani forces on Tuesday. He also said that while he is proud that his father died for the nation, he also sought answers from authorities.

"It's a matter of pride for us, not everyone gets to be draped in the tricolour. But we just can't keep feeling proud. We are proud today, someone gets killed tomorrow, we will be proud again. We demand action from the authorities," he said as quoted by ANI.

He also questioned as to what will happen in the next few days when the family "won't get any help". Seeking help from authorities, the martyr's son said, "My brother and I are unemployed. Sole bread-winner, my father, is gone while serving the nation. I want the authority to provide us whatever help we need."

The last rites of Martyr Narender Kumar took place at his home in Sonipat today amid anti-Pakistan chants by locals.

Congress Lashes Out at Modi government

Meanwhile, the Congress has also lashed out at the Narendra Modi government a day after the barbaric act by Pakistani forces along the International Border. "First Hemraj, now Narender Kumar. Pakistan murdered him barbarically. What is government doing? Modi ji doesn't your soul call you out," questioned Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala.

Surjewala also met the family of the martyred BSF Head Constable at their home in Sonipat on Thursday.

BSF Jawan Mutilated by Pakistani Forces

BSF head constable Narender Kumar's body was recovered on Wednesday after he was killed by Pakistani forces in unprovoked firing on Tuesday night. Kumar's body reportedly bore three bullet marks, his throat was slit while his eyes were gouged out.

The BSF on Wednesday raised the issue of killing of the jawan with the Pakistan Rangers at the sector level. The BSF has also sought Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) to raise the issue with Pakistan at its level.
