Mumbai/Kolkata, October 29: In a piece of extremely tragic news, two senior women journalists in their fifties passed away on Monday. Senior crime journalist Maria Abraham and features correspondent Nandini Guha left for their heavenly abode on Monday.
Maria Abraham was one of the most renowned crime reporters and she shot to the limelight after her interview with Chhota Shakeel. As a journalist, she was applauded for her bravery and for her several breaking stories in the crime field. Mary was also one of the first journalists to land in the Latur earthquake and her investigative reports on HIV and female trafficking rackets have been widely discussed. She has worked with Hindustan Times and the Week. Abraham has reportedly passed away due to a massive cardiac arrest.
Nandini Guha was one of the most respected and loved Features correspondent in Kolkata. She passed away on October 28, following a massive cardiac arrest. She is reportedly in her early 50s and has worked in popular national dailies like Asian Age, The Telegraph, Hindustan Times, The Indian Express and Millennium Post.
Guha was reportedly suffering from hypertension and high blood sugar for the last several years. She was a student of South Point school and did her graduation from the prestigious Presidency College and a PG Diploma in Mass Communication from Jadavpur University.
