New Delhi, March 4: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP & Delhi Chief Manoj Tiwari  faced a backlash for attending a party rally in Delhi in the armed forces'  uniform. Tiwari had worn the military uniform during an event in the national capital on March 2, where he flagged off a BJP bike rally in the Yamuna Vihar area in his North East Delhi Lok Sabha constituency. The BJP MP said that from time to time, he has been wearing armed forces caps, t-shirts, because he feels proud to wear it.

"From time to time, I wear armed forces caps, t-shirts, I feel proud to wear it, to respect the armed forces is patriotism. The people of the country are proud to wear it", Tiwari added. Manoj Tiwari Delhi BJP Chief Admitted to Safdarjung Hospital.

Drawing flak from the opposition parties, Trinamool Congress MP Derek O’Brien said it was a “shameless act” on Tiwari’s part. “Shameless. Shameless. Shameless. Manoj Tewari BJP MP and Delhi President wearing Armed Forces uniform and seeking votes", the TMC leader said. Manoj Tiwari Slams CM Arvind Kejriwal for Wasting Time Over Non-Issues and Ignoring People’s Problems.

Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah, Derek O’Brien tweeted saying, "BJP-Modi-Shah insulting and politicising our jawans. And then giving lectures on patriotism. Low life".
