Panaji, February 5: Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, who is currently admitted at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi for treatment, is 'very unwell' and is living by God's grace, Deputy Speaker of the state Assembly Michael Lobo said on Monday. Lobo told reporters that the day Parrikar steps down as chief minister of Goa, or 'something happens to him', Goa will plunge into a political crisis. "He is very unwell. People have to understand that he is sick. The ailment that he has got has got no cure. With God's blessings, he is still living. God has given him blessings to work", Lobo was quoted by ANI. "A political crisis will strike the incumbent BJP-led coalition govt if something happens to Parrikar. As long as he is the Chief Minister of Goa, there is no crisis", Lobo said.

In Goa, Parrikar heads a coalition government that is supported by the Goa Forward Party (GFP), the Maharashravadi Gomantak Party (MGP), and three Independent MLAs. On the occasion of World Cancer Day on February 4, Parrikar took to Twitter saying 'human mind can overcome any disease'.
Parrikar was admitted to the AIIMS on January 31 as his health deteriorated. The 63-year old Chief Minister has been suffering from a pancreatic ailment and has been in and out of hospitals in New Delhi, New York, Mumbai and Goa since 2018.
