New Delhi, July 28: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday shared his thoughts with the people in the country and abroad in his monthly Mann Ki Baat Programme on Sunday at 11 AM. In his radio address, the Prime Minister congratulated the ISRO scientist for the successful launch of Chandrayaan- 2 on July 22 from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. He also congratulated Meghalaya government for becoming the first state to have formulated its own water-policy. The Prime Minister also invited students to take part in a unique quiz competition on space research and get an opportunity to visit Sriharikota. Lauding the launch of Chandrayaan-2 , the Prime Minister said the spacecraft is Indian to the core  and is purely Indian in heart and spirit. "It is a totally swadeshi and home grown mission. We are now eagerly waiting for September, when Lander Vikram and Rover Pragyan will land on lunar surface", PM Modi said. In his address, the Prime Minister made three appeals to conserve water in his last 'Mann ki Baat' address.

  10. PM Modi also called for some special preparations for 15th August. “Month of August brings memories of "Quit India" movement.I would want you to do some special preparations for 15th August. Find new ways to celebrate this festival of freedom”, he said.

In his first address after coming to power, Modi had credited people of India for his return as the Prime Minister. "When the February 24 episode was about to end, I had stated that we would meet once again after 3 or 4 months ... the confidence was not Modi's. This trust was the trust of your foundation. You were the ones who transformed yourself into a pillar of trust," he said in his first address of edition 2 of his programme.
