New Delhi, August 25: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed his monthly radio broadcast "Mann Ki Baat" at 11 am. This is the Prime Minister's third radio programme since he was re-elected for a second term in May. The Prime Minister extended his greetings to people of the nation on the occasion of Krishna- Janma Mahotsav, remembered Swami Vivekanada, spoke about National Sports Day and about the upcoming 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The Prime Minister announced that this year `Swachhata Hi Sewa’ fortnight will begin on September 11. PM Narendra Modi Lauds ISRO Scientists for Successful Launch of Chandrayaan 2.

In his radio address, the Prime Minister said he has been extremely fortunate to have been blessed with the opportunity to visit a number of significant places associated with revered Mahatma Gandhi and pay his homage. "Gandhiji emphasized not only on the spirit of service, but also on the inner happiness it led to. Gandhiji shared an unbreakable bond with truth; he shared a similar unique bond with the spirit of service", the PM said.

We possess everything within us, let us proceed with confidence", Modi said.

In the second episode of 'Mann Ki Baat' which was aired a week before the abrogation of Article 370, the Prime Minister had said those who spread hatred will never succeed in their nefarious plans. He had also asserted that the power of development was stronger than the might of "bullets and bombs". In the first episode after coming to power for the second time, the PM spoke about emergency, water crisis and International Yoga Day.

The programme is broadcast on the last Sunday of the month and suggestions, stories and ideas are invited from people for it. The Prime Minister had spoken in the last episode of the radio programme in February this year and had expressed confidence of the BJP-led NDA's victory in the Lok Sabha elections 2019.
