Mangaluru, September 17: In a shocking turn of events, a respected professor from Mangaluru has died under mysterious circumstances just days after undergoing liver donation surgery. The 33-year-old professor, identified as Archana Kamath, had selflessly donated a portion of her liver to a relative of her husband. However, while the relative to whom she donated a portion of her liver is reported to be safe and recovering well, Kamath suddenly passed away on September 15 after falling ill. A probe has been launched to ascertain the cause behind her unexpected death.
According to a report by NewsKarnataka.com, Archana had a distinguished career as an educator. She initially served as a lecturer at Canara College before joining the Manel Srinivas Nayak Institute of Management. Known for her dedication to teaching and her positive impact on students, Kamath was a respected figure in the academic community. Her decision to donate a portion of her liver was motivated by a desire to help a family member in need. As per the daijiworld.com report, the liver donation surgery took place on September 4 at a Bengaluru hospital, where Kamath's procedure was initially deemed successful. Following the surgery, she was reported to be recovering well and was discharged from the hospital. Despite this positive recovery trajectory, Kamath experienced a sudden and severe illness on September 11. She was promptly admitted to a Mangaluru hospital, where her condition rapidly deteriorated.
