On Thursday, the anti-Citizenship Amendment Act protests in Mangaluru took a violent turn. Two people Jaleel Kudroli (49) and Nausheen Bengre (23) died in a police firing. Following the incident, internet services were suspended in Dakshina Kannada district.
This hospital is the same where Kudroli and Bengre were brought in. The attenders didn't realise that they were dead and called the senior doctors. In the meantime, the crowd started gathering at the hospital after the news spread that the two men injured in police firing died. Soon, police reached the spot and both the sides started throwing stones. The cops thought that caretakers of the hospital were also part of protesters and started lathi-charge.
