Man Wears Burkha, Enters Women’s Toilet in Goa, Booked

According to reports, the accused has been identified as Virgil Fernandes and was caught by a passerby. He was caught while exiting a women's toilet at the bus stand, wearing a burkha.

Panaji, February 17: In a shocking incident, a 35-year-old state government employee in Goa was booked for dressing up like a Muslim woman and entering a women's toilet. According to reports, the Goa Police on Saturday booked the man after he was seen entering the women’s toilet at the central bus stand in Goa wearing a burkha. According to a report by IANS, the accused has been identified as Virgil Fernandes and was caught by a passerby while exiting a women's toilet at the bus stand, wearing a burkha. Reports also inform that accused had also worn a wig to look like a woman.

The incident took place at Panaji bus stand. According to reports, a video of the incident has also surfaced on social media. A Goa Police spokesperson told reporters that Fernandes has been booked under Section 419 (impersonation) for trying to impersonate a Muslim woman, in order to enter a ladies toilet at the Panaji bus stand.

Earlier this month, a 35-year-old sanitation worker was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a five-year-old girl at a public toilet in west Delhi's Naraina area. According to details by Police, the accused, identified as Kailash, 35, was arrested from a public toilet after the victim's parents reported the incident to the police.
