Mumbai, September 18: In a shocking incident, the D B Marg police arrested a 24-year-old man hailing from Andhra Pradesh on charges of allegedly harassing and defaming a 21-year-old woman residing in Mumbai. The accused had uploaded the woman's morphed nude pics on social media accounts. The alleged harassment came to light after the young woman decided to end her friendship with the accused.
According to a report published by the Times of India, the accused was identified as Prince Kumar Bharti, a Bihar native. The report said that the accused and complainant met on social media in 2020 and became friends. The duo started talking on a regular basis. In 2022, the accused came to Mumbai to meet her. However, their friendship soured, leading the woman to cut all ties with him. Deeply disturbed, the man demanded Rs 2 lakh from her, which he said he had spent on her. Reportedly, the accused made three social media profiles under the woman's identity and uploaded morphed nude photos of her. Subsequently, the woman approached the police. Acting swiftly, the cops arrested the accused on Friday. A case has been registered against him under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and IT Act. In another incident, a 25-year-old man from Rajasthan was arrested for allegedly morphing and circulating nude pictures of a 22-year-old woman after she rejected and blocked him. The accused – identified as Kalluram Singh, a resident of Pilibanga in Rajasthan – came in contact with the woman through an online game PubG.
