Mumbai, September 24: The Mumbai Police recently arrested a 23-year-old man for stalking, harassing, and defaming a college student in the city. Cops said that the accused allegedly harassed the 21-year-old first-year BHMS student by uploading her private pictures and videos on Instagram. The victim is said to be a resident of Malad's Madh Island.

According to a report in Mid-day, the woman is pursuing her Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) degree from a medical college in Pune. They also said that the accused continued to stalk the woman despite her breaking off all contact with him. It is learned that the accused stalked the woman from 2023 to July 2024. Officials said that the woman had not told her family about the order as she was scared of defamation and conflict between the two families.

The accused, identified as Karan Kurade, was arrested on Saturday, September 21, after being at large for some time. After his arrest, Kurade was produced before the court, which remanded him to police custody.
