Mumbai, August 19: A dry month of monsoon this August has reportedly caused water levels to dip in several dams in Maharashtra. The water levels in the state dams are reportedly said to be 20 percent lower compared to last year. As per a report in the Times of India, the water level in all dams of Maharashtra is down to 62 percent as compared to 81 percent at this time in 2022. Maharashtra and Mumbai also saw a disappointing August in terms of rainfall so far.

As per the report, a gap in monsoon and no rainfall has reportedly led to a significant dip in the water levels in the state's dams. The dam water level is said to be the lowest in Marathwada, with the dam having a water capacity of just 31 percent. The 31 percent water level in Marathwada dam is less when compared to the 72.6 percent water level same time last year. Mumbai Rains Today: Short Spells of Rainfall Lashes Several Areas, Mumbaikars Welcome Back Rains by Sharing Photos and Videos of #MumbaiRains.
