Maharashtra: Unidentified Assailants From Karnataka Attack Sunday Mass in Kohlapur Ahead of Christmas; Police Send Teams to Belgaum
In a shocking incident, 10-12 unidentified miscreants attacked a Sunday Mass in a village in Maharashtra's Kolhapur on December 23. As per reports, a group of people attending a congregational prayer in a rented room at Kowad in Chandgad taluka when the miscreants attacked them with bottles, stones and hockey sticks.
Kohlapur, December 25: In a shocking incident, 10-12 unidentified miscreants attacked a Sunday Mass in a village in Maharashtra's Kolhapur on December 23, two days before Christmas. As per reports, a group of people attending a congregational prayer in a rented room at Kowad in Chandgad taluka when the miscreants attacked them with bottles, stones and hockey sticks. In the attack, 12 people were injured, among the injured four sustained severe injuries.
The assailants, while returning towards Belagavi attacked some more people in Dindalkop and Talguli villages. As per police, they were finding it difficult to identify the attackers as their faces were covered. Meanwhile, an investigation is going on. The Maharashtra police is also examining the CCTV footage to nab the accused. Police have formed five teams to track down the unidentified accused involved in the incident. Teams have been sent to Belgaum to locate them as all the accused are believed to be from Karnataka. A case has been registered the attackers under various Sections including 143, 147, 148, 149, 307 and 452 of the Indian Penal Code. Meanwhile, the Congress has attacked the Maharashtra government over the incident.
