Maharashtra: Singer Promises Maid Rs 4 Crore For One Kidney, Dupes Her of Rs 8 Lakh
A man from Delhi, Arvind Kumar (28), has been arrested and his live-in partner, a Nepalese singer called Rabina Badi is wanted for allegedly duping a woman from Ambarnath of Rs 8 lakh.
Ambernath, February 19: A man from Delhi has been arrested and his live-in partner, a Nepalese singer is wanted for allegedly duping a woman from Ambarnath of Rs 8 lakh.
The accused, identified as Rabina Badi, a Nepalese singer, along with her friend Arvind Kumar (28), persuaded Kalpana Magar (30), a domestic help, to become a kidney donor after offering her Rs 4 crore, the Times of India reported.
Police said that Magar, who hails from Nepal, lives in Ambernath with her husband, a security guard and four children. She had met Rabina Badi in Nepal and became friends on Facebook later. As per the victim's complaint, during a Facebook chat, Magar told Badi about her poor financial condition. The singer told her that she had relocated to Delhi after earning Rs 4 crore by selling her kidney. Badi told the victim that one could lead a normal life with one kidney and persuaded her to become a kidney donor.
Badi told Magar that that she would first have to pay a few lakhs and then she would be flown abroad and he kidney would be harvested," a police officer was quoted as saying by TOI.

After receiving the amount, the singer started avoiding Magar's phone calls and blocked her on Facebook. Later, a social worker encouraged Magar to lodge a complaint with Shivaji Nagar police station.
Based on the victim's complaint, Shivaji Nagar police arrested Arvind Kumar whereas Badi is still at large. Cops are further investigating the case.
Police said a team will be sent to Nepal to nab the accused.
