Mumbai, April 18: In another incident of sexual assault in Maharashtra, a minor girl was gang-raped by two men in Virar (East). The victim's friend was also thrashed by the accused who tied him to a tree. The crime took place on April 15 and the families of the girl and her friend informed the police the next day. According to the description of the perpetrators given by the victim, the accused could be auto-rickshaw drivers.
The girl, who is a student of Class 9, was on her way to a relative's place when she met her friend. The duo was walking on a deserted road when two men accosted them. The accused dragged them to a desolate spot behind a school. One of the accused first assaulted the boy, tied him to a tree and warned him against raising an alarm. According to the police, the duo fled after threatening to kill the girl and her friend. The victim then untied her friend and they reached her place when she narrated the incident to her parents, Times of India reported. Based on the complaint by the two families, the police registered a case of gang-rape (IPC section 376D), voluntarily causing hurt (IPC 323), criminal intimidation (IPC 506) and under other sections of the Pocso Act. 32-year-old Insurance Agent Gangraped in Hyderabad.
The victim told the police that the men were wearing brown trousers and one of them had a triangular badge attached to his trouser. Based on the facial description provided by the victim, cops are questioning auto-rickshaw drivers. No arrest has been made so far.
