Maharashtra: Satara Doctor Sanjay Raut Kidnapped for Rs 5 Crore Ransom in Paltan, Three arrested

Satara Police have arrested three people for kidnapping a famous doctor from Phaltan taluka of Maharashtra's Satara district.

Phaltan, February 20: Satara Police on Wednesday arrested three people for kidnapping a famous doctor from Phaltan taluka of Maharashtra's Satara district. According to the reports, on Tuesday night, Dr Sanjay Krishnaji Raut was going home on his bike from Lifeline Hospital. Later, the kidnapper brought Raut, a famous heart surgeon, to Baramati area in Pune. Following, the abductors contacted Raut's manager to demand the sum of Rs 5 crore before he could be released. As soon as the incident went viral, Sub-Divisional Superintendent of Police, Dr Abhijit Patil and Phaltan police inspector, Dattatray Kale formed teams and search operations were started. Hyderabad: Woman Techie Abducts Stalker, Thrashes Him; Arrested.

After a brief search, Police arrested the accused from Katewadi region. The main accused were identified as Iqbal Sheikh, Azhar Shaikh and Mahesh Dhananjay Patil. Police officials are yet to arrest the remaining accused Kishore Awara and Vishal Mahadev Thombre. A case has been registered and accused have been booked under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
