Nashik, July 11: After a heavy downpour on Wednesday, the streets near Trimbakeshwar temple in Nashik district of Maharashtra were seen submerged in water. According to a video by ANI, the area is seen flooded following heavy rainfall in the region. Several low-lying areas were also flooded and water-logging was reported after heavy overnight rains in Nashik. While normal life was disrupted in some parts, the incessant showers, which continued throughout on Wednesday improved the water level in various reservoirs of the district, which was facing acute water shortage before the monsoon. The Trimbakeshwar or Tryambakeshwar temple is an ancient Hindu temple in the town of Trimbak in Nashik District of Maharashtra. It is dedicated to the Lord Shiva and is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas in India.

Earlier this month, the Nashik Municipal Corporation had asked around 250 families staying in thatched huts in Kazi Gadhi area, located on the Godavari river's bank, to shift to a temporary shelter as a precautionary measure, deputy civic commissioner Mahesh Doiphode said.
In June, two persons, including a teenage girl, were killed in rain-related incidents in Nashik district which was lashed by heavy showers for the fourth consecutive day Friday, disrupting normal life. According to a report by PTI, in the first incident, an 18-year-old girl, Rupali Bhoi, a resident of Pimpalas village, was killed when she was struck by lightning while in the second incident, a 52-year-old man, Puvappa Kalal, was electrocuted near a paan shop in the Mumbai Naka area of the city.
