Beed, October 17: In a sad incident, a police personnel van -- deployed in the security of Prime Minister Narendra Modi -- met with an accident in Beed district of Maharashtra. Local media state that the accident took place near Parli-Beed road of Maharashtra when security personnel were returning from the bandobast duty for PM Modi's electoral rally in Parle village. Around 15 security personnel were injured in the accident, and one has been admitted in Beed's district hospital.

According to the local reports, the van -- carrying the police personnel back to their camp -- met with the accident at around 5 pm. In the accident, the van rolled two to three times before it stopped. After the reports poured in National Congress Party's local candidate, Dhananjay Munde rushed to the spot and rescued the security personnel. Though the reason for the accident is yet to be confirmed, police sources say that the driver lost the control and the van met with the accident. It is to be known that all these security personnel were deployed for the security of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived in Beed to address an electoral rally ahead of the scheduled Assembly elections in Maharashtra. The polls would take place on October 21 and the counting of votes would take place on October 24.
