Raigad, June 17: In a shocking incident, a picnic trip for three Mumbai resident turned tragic in Roha Taluka of Maharashtra's Raigad after they drowned in Kundalika River on Sunday. Two of the bodies were recovered from the river by 9 pm while search operation for the missing resumed on Monday morning. "Rescue teams of police, fire brigade and members of a local rafting club rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation, he said, adding that bodies of Paresh Jejurkar and Kanage were found whereas a search for Mahesh is still on," said police official. According to police, a group of twenty-eight had gone for a picnic.
On Sunday some of them ventured into the river; the trio were later found missing. The bodies of Paresh and Akshay were sent for post-mortem. The cops have filed an accidental death report and informed the family members of victims. The Kundalika River is a popular spot for adventurers for white water rafting.
