Mumbai, January 6: Maharashtra Education Minister Vinod Tawde on Sunday faced flak for his intolerant behaviour after a student asked a few questions during an event in Maharashtra's Amravati. According to reports, Tawde was irked by uncomfortable questions that were asked during a college event and ordered the arrest of the student. Tawde's action sparked an outrage among the students present at the event. Anguished by the Minister's actions, students tore his posters and created a ruckus.

According to a report by News 18, the students of a college in Amravati asked the Minister if the government would provide free higher education to the poor as the cost of the same spiked up each passing year.
