Mumbai, August 13: Normal lives were thrown off track due to heavy rains that caused floods in several districts of Maharashtra. According to an ANI tweet, the death toll due to flood in all five districts of Pune division (Sangli, Kolhapur, Satara, Pune and Solapur) rises to 43.

Relief distribution has started and teams have been formed. According to an ANI tweet, Defence PRO said, "Team are involved in distributing relief material and medicines. 2.5 tons of ration delivered to villages of Rajapur & Rajapur Wadi. Medical camp doctors along with medical supplies have been sent to villages."
To express their love and gratitude, women and girls in Sangli, one of the worst areas affected with floods tied rakhi to Army and Navy Jawans on Sunday. Videos of the event went viral and it touched hearts as Sangli women decided to show their gratitude to the Army men for undertaking the rescue operation, which saved several lives in flood battered villages in Maharashtra.
