Maharashtra: Class 7 Boy Dies by Suicide in Nagpur After Losing in PUBG Game

A class 7 student died by suicide on Monday after losing in a Player Unknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) game. The boy was reportedly found hanging from a room's a window bar. He used "dupatta" to hang himself. The incident took place at Narmada Colony of Maharashtra's Nagpur city.

Nagpur, July 21: A class 7 student died by suicide on Monday after losing in a Player Unknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) game. The boy was reportedly found hanging from a room's a window bar. According to a report published in Mumbai Mirror, police registered a case of accidental death. The boy used to play mobile games on his phone and after losing the game, he was apparently depressed, a police official said. PUBG is a multi-player survival combat game. Voices have been raised again and again to ban the game.  Recently, Former chairman of Indian Space Research Organisation G Madhavan Nair said the game exposes children to a world of crime and war. He told PTI that It does not enhance the skill or intellectual capability of players, especially children, and exposes them to all kinds of negative thinking.
