Maharashtra: Beed Woman Arrested for Drowning 2 Daughters to Death in Underground Water Tank
A 25-year-old woman was arrested on Tuesday after she allegedly murdered two of her daughters by drowning them into the underground water tank near her residence.
Ahmednagar, October 31: A 25-year-old woman was arrested on Tuesday after she allegedly murdered two of her daughters by drowning them into the underground water tank near her residence, a report by Times of India stated. The report informs that the incident took place in Maharashtra's Beed district and the woman has been identified as Deepali Apte. During the interrogation, Deepali confessed to the crime and told police that she was fed up of frequent fights with husband, who was sad with her for giving birth to three daughters and also suspected her faithfulness. Her husband, Radheshyam is an auto-rickshaw driver and many cases were registered against him, police sources told TOI.
The crime came to light when one of her family members reached the tank, to draw water in the morning. The family immediately informed the police about the incident. Initially, Police has taken Radheshyam into custody and questioned him. After he was not found guilty, Deepali was questioned who confessed to the crime. Police have arrested her and booked her under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
