Maharashtra ATS Arrests Woman From Kanpur in Spying Case

New Delhi, October 8: A team of Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Monday arrested a woman from Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur in connection with a spying case. Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) sleuths recovered some electronic devices from the suspected female spy, reported News18. The identity of the accused woman was not immidiately known.

The news of the woman's arrest surfaced minutes after the Uttar Pradesh ATS, in a joint operation with military intelligence, arrested Nishant Agarwal, an official associated with the Nagpur unit of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). Nishant Agarwal is accused of leaking sensitive informations to Pakistan's spy agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

Aggarwal is likely to be booked with provisions under the Official Secret Acts, 1923. Nagpur police also assisted the two agencies for conducting raids at Aggarwal's house in the city.
