In Mumbai, a total of 36 constituencies will be contested. The city forms a major block in the 288-member Maharashtra assembly. The BJP-Shiv Sena combine had won 29 out of the 36 constituencies in the city in 2014.

In Worli, where the cash seizure was reported today, NCP's tallest leader from the constituency Sachin Ahir made his way to the Shiv Sena in July. With his entry into the Thackeray-led party, pollsters predicted a massive win for the Sena from the assembly segment.
