Thane, December 10: The Naupada traffic police on Sunday arrested an advocate's son who tried to mow down a traffic cop after he was stopped for violating traffic rules. The CCTV footage of the incident which went viral on social media, shows a person inside the white car breaking rules and arguing with police. Later, when the argument gets heated up three police officers arrive at the spot to detain him, however, the accused flees from the spot. Amid Rising Accidents in Pune! According to police, after the accused jumped the traffic signal, a traffic constable flagged it down and asked the youth to show his driving license. However, he refused to show his license and told constable that he is the son of a government Sangita Phad and fleed away.

A Naupada police station official said, the constable sustained injuries while stopping the car and alleged that the accused tried to run over other two constables at the spot. Later, the accused was arrested near Thane's Nitin Company after a chase by police. The accused has been booked under various section of the India Penal Code (IPC). Meanwhile, Sangita Phad was not available for a comment reported ANI.
