Bhopal, Sep 9: In a shocking incident, a patient in Madhya Pradesh had to be carried on a charpoy (cot) across a flooded river due to lack of road connectivity. According to a tweet by ANI, the incident took place in the Damoh region on Saturday. The video that went viral on social media shows four people carrying the man on a cot across a flooded river.

It must be noted that the road has been washed away due to incessant rains in the state and connectivity has been severely hampered. Reports inform that as the conditions of the roads are poor, neither an ambulance nor any other vehicle can reach the village. The family of the patient had no other option but to carry the patient to the hospital in a cot.

This is not the first such incident showing lack of medical facilities or inaccessible roads in Madhya Pradesh. In July, a pregnant woman had to be carried on a cot by her family members to a hospital via theTikamgarh’s flooded streets after the ambulance service number failed to respond.

In May, a man was forced to carry his wife's body on his shoulder in the absence of an ambulance in Uttar Pradesh's Budaun city. However, the hospital authorities denied the allegations of the patient's family.
