Balaghat, July 10: Two wanted Naxals including a woman were gunned down in an encounter with security forces in Madhya Pradesh’s Balaghat district on the intervening night of July 9 and 10. The slain naxals were identified as Mangesh and Bande of the CPI (Maoists) Tanda Dalam group. Chhattisgarh: 4 Naxals Killed in Encounter in Sukma.
They were residents of Chhattisgarh and carried a reward of Rs eight lakh on their heads. The encounter started at around 1 am on Wednesday and search operations continued till 5 am. The operation was carried out by the Hawk Force, special anti-Naxal force of MP police. Seven Naxals Gunned Down in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur District.
“Police received information regarding movement of 10-12 Maoists near village Pujari Tola village. When police team reached there, the Maoists started firing. The police team retaliated killing two Maoists,” reported Hindustan Times quoting Balaghat superintendent of police Abhishek Tiwari as saying. According to reports, one SLR rifle and a 315 bore rifle and multiple live rounds of bullets were recovered from the slain naxals.
On Tuesday, a woman was gunned down in an encounter with security forces near Dabbakonta village of Chhattisgarh's Sukma. The gun-battle took place at around 6 am. The security forces recovered the body of the Naxal after the gunfight.
