Bhopal, October 30: In what can be termed as a terrifying accident, a 30-year-old construction worker allegedly suffered serious injuries after he reportedly fell from the roof and landed on 12mm metal rods in Gwalior. Soon after he fell, the metal rods allegedly pierced his stomach and chest. The alleged incident occurred on Tuesday, October 29, at Gwalior railway station.
According to an FPJ report, the construction worker was rushed to JAH Trauma Center in critical condition. At the hospital, doctors pf JAH and railway workshop engineers collaborated for the first time on an emergency surgery. Later, the victim was identified as 30-year-old Chhotu Jatav, who is said to be a resident of Ghasmandi in Gwalior. At the hospital, doctors and railway workshop engineers began operating Jatav. They first grinded the rods before taking them out from his body. Post this, doctors ran a CT scan to know the damage caused by the iron rod. Following this, they operated on Jatav and saved his life. Although he is said to be stable, Jatav has been kept under close observation.
During the preliminary investigation, cops learned that Jatav worked as a construction worker. It is reported that the accident occurred when Jatav was working on the roof of Gwalior railway station for ongoing construction efforts to revamp the station. As per the report, constriction workers had to stand on a chain belt that was secured at certain points. However, when the victim began work on a pole, the chain belt unlocked suddenly, thereby causing him to fall onto the exposed metal rods. A picture going viral on social media shows three iron rods puncturing through Jatav's body.
