Katangi, November 11: In a shocking incident, a case has been registered against a 15-year-old boy for killing his 14-year-old sister with an iron trident in Madhya Pradesh's Balaghat district. The tragic attack took place in Katangi city on Sunday, November 10, following a dispute over the girl’s interaction with a neighbourhood boy. The boy, enraged by his sister speaking to the 17-year-old, reportedly attacked her with the trident, leaving her critically injured. Despite being rushed to the hospital, the girl succumbed to her injuries later that day.

In the days leading up to the tragic incident, the 15-year-old boy and his 14-year-old sister had been involved in multiple conflicts. According to a Times of India report, three days before the attack, the victim had gone to Jabalpur with the same boy who had been speaking to her. This altercation only worsened the tension between the two, and the boy became increasingly aggressive. On Sunday, the situation took a violent turn when the accused saw his sister talking to the same boy again. As per the report, the accused, standing at a distance, observed the conversation before his sister sat on the boy's bike. He struck her multiple times on her back and waist, causing severe injuries. After the brutal assault, the boy fled into the nearby forest, leaving his sister bleeding on the ground. Despite efforts to save her, the girl succumbed to her injuries around 11 am, according to the report. The Katangi police have since registered a murder case against the 15-year-old, who remains on the run as investigations continue.
