Madhya Pradesh Shamed Again! 14-Month-Old Infant Raped in Vidisha District; Grandfather Accused

Bhopal, July 16: In another shocking incident of sexual assault against minor in Madhya Pradesh, a 14-month old girl was allegedly raped by her father’s uncle in Vidisha district on Saturday. The 38-year-old accused Gajraj Singh Bhil had visited his nephew’s place. He took his daughter along with him for playing with her. According to Hindustan Times’ report, Bhil sent the girl back with one of his brothers around half an hour later.

The girl was crying from pain, and later her mother found that there were some injury marks in her private parts. The victim was taken to the Sironj government hospital. A doctor after examining her, confirmed that she was sexually assaulted. The case has been registered against the accused under Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act. Bhil is currently absconding. The police have launched a manhunt operation to nab the accused.

More than half a dozen rapes case were registered from Madhya Pradesh in the last one month. On July 8, a 15-year-old girl allegedly was gang-raped in Bijawar town of Madhya Pradesh’s Chattarpur district. The case was registered against the accused. On June 26, an eight-year-old girl was gang-raped by two men in Mandsaur district. The incident caused huge outrage and raised questions about the safety of girl child in public places. The opposition even slammed the Shivraj Chouhan government for increasing sexual assault cases against girls.
