Chindwara, September 1: The famous Gotmar Mela in Madhya Pradesh's Chhindwara district began on Saturday on a violent note. As many as 275 people reported injuries and six were seriously injured in the traditional function organised. Video of the stone-pelting incident shows the practice got out of hand. However, the District Collector said that the situation is in control. And that drones are being deployed to monitor the situation.

The annaul Gotmar Mela involves the practice of  stone-pelting between people in Chhindwara district's Pandhurna and Sawargaon town. However, things got out of control on Saturday. The practice soon turned into a conflict and people had to be restrained. The administration has decided to take matters in their hand to control the situation.
