Bhopal, May 20: In a horrific incident, an 11-year-old girl in Madhya Pradesh was allegedly sold by her alcoholic father to a man, who was thrice her age. Reports inform that the incident took place in Chattarpur district of Bundelkhand on May 15 but came to light on Monday. According to a report by TOI, the 35-year-old man, to whom the child was sold, raped her for three days and dumped her back in her village, saying she was crying way too much and he couldn’t tolerate it. Rape Survivor Reaches Police Station With Viral Video Clip in Meerut As Investigation Gets Delayed. 

The report informs that the child’s mother had no clue that her daughter was sold. As soon as she came to know about the incident, the woman immediately rushed to the police. The mother of the girl who had been living in neighbouring Sagar district after some issue with her husband. The child, in her complaint, said that on May 12, her father got her 'married' to the man named Devi Baskar for 50,000. The 35-year-old man then took her to a nearby temple. The child was draped in a sari and a mangalsutra was seen tied around her neck, which showed that she was married. The report states that the ‘husband’, raped her repeatedly for the next three days. Anguished by the man’s acts, the helpless girl kept crying, which angered the man even more. The girl was later taken back to her father with the complaint that she cried all the time.

Police arrested Baskar for raping the child and booked him under POCSO Act. According to a report by TOI, the investigation is underway and the local SHO said the other allegations levelled by the girl are also being investigated.
