Madhya Pradesh, October 4: Due to the torrential rains that lashed the state, several villages and districts remain flooded. Residents of Naugaon village in Mandsaur district were seen carry the body of a woman through a flooded nullah, for her last rites. According to an ANI tweet, villagers said that they had requested the administration multiple times for a bridge, but their requests were never heard. A heart-wrenching people has been shared by ANI shows how people are carrying the dead body of the woman in the middle of a flooded nullah.
The Madhya Pradesh government has said that 674 people lost their lives due to flood and lightning and 18 people suffered physical disabilities. The government further asked for the assistance of Rs 7,154.28 crore from the Centre help people for the losses which they suffered due to the excessive rainfall in the state. The government data further revealed that primary loss of about Rs 12,000 crore was incurred by the state. Around 1,888 animals died due to heavy rains and deluge across the state. Among the 1,18,386 buildings that were damaged, many were completely destroyed and some suffered partial damage.
