Bhind, November 4: In a shocking incident of incest, a father held his 16-year-old daughter captive and raped her when her mother was in the house. The incident took place at the girl's house in Madhya Pradesh's Bhind on November 2. The matter came to fore when the rape survivor made a phone call to the police from her mother's mobile phone. The accused, identified as Arvind Sharma, is absconding since the sexual assault took place. In her statement, the girl said that her father used to physically assault her for no reason as he wanted a male child. "My mother used to try to protect and help me but he used to thrash her as well as he blamed her for not giving birth to a male child. On Saturday he first locked me inside the room and raped me after thrashing me," the survivor said in her complaint. The father also threatened to kill the girl. After realising that her daughter was raped by her husband, she asked her to call the police. "We received a complaint on phone on late Saturday evening but the accused had already fled when we reached the spot. The victim with several injury marks was rescued from the spot and a case of rape has been registered against him," Sub Inspector Kamal Kant Dubey told India Today.
Police searched various locations to nab Arvind Sharma but all efforts went in vain. Further investigation was underway. The victim and her mother's statements have been recorded.
