Madhya Pradesh: Hotel Manager Asks Woman to ‘Dress Properly’ in Bhind, Booked for Molestation

Bhopal, June 22: A hotel manager in Bhind, Madhya Pradesh, has been booked for molestation following a controversial incident involving a woman guest. The woman, a Delhi resident in Bhind for her LLM exam, filed a complaint alleging inappropriate behaviour after the manager advised her to "dress properly."

TOI reported that the incident took place on Wednesday evening when the woman was working near the hotel reception due to lack of Wi-Fi in her room. She claimed that the receptionist asked her to return to her room or wear 'appropriate clothes.' The police were summoned, and a woman constable was brought in to handle the situation. Hotel owner Anita Chopra also arrived, and Jain apologized to the guest. Chopra argued that the allegation was false, asserting that the woman was merely asked to wear 'proper clothes' as she was in short attire. Jain told local media that his only remark was, "Madam, this is Bhind," referencing local cultural norms.

The police are investigating the complaint, and the woman has since moved to another hotel.
