Mandsaur, August 21: In a tragic incident, four people died after their car was washed away in an overflowing drain in Gulaniya village of Mandsaur on August 21. According to a report published in The Times of India, locals warned the victims against crossing the river, but they did not listen to them. As per the police, the deceased were employees of JK Cement.
According to the report, the victims have been identified as JK Cements marketing officer Rahul Maheshwari, 30, of Raisen, his colleague Deepak Agrawal, 35, of Mandsaur, company C&F agent Arvind Nagori, 60, of Neemuch and driver Navratan Goyal, 45. They were moving in the Maruti Swift car when they swept away into the Maria Khal nullah near Badman.

Villagers tried to rescue the deceased, but by the time they broke the windscreen, the vehicle was completely submerged into the water. All the four victims were rushed to Mandsaur district hospital, but could not survive.
In a similar incident in July, six students from Bhopal were killed after their car fell into a 40 feet gorge near the Kolar dam in Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh. The students were coming back after celebrating a birthday of one of their friends. According to police, their vehicle skidded off the road, and before plunging into the Kolar Dam near Veerpur area, it rammed into a pole.
