Bhopal, July 30: Students of Kanya Shiksha Parisar, Khandwa were rescued on Monday after flood water entered their hostel building. According to an ANI report, 183 students were rescued and that point of time, the hostel Superintendent was not present. Reportedly action will be taken against the official. After a delayed entry of the monsoon in the state and following incessant rainfall in the last few days, several areas have been flooded and the water level in rivers have also crossed the danger mark. Several state highways and villages have been flooded.

Reportedly, the traffic between Bhopal and the Nagpur was badly affected due to the deluge. The Bhopal-Betul Highway was also shut due to the floods, leaving several vehicles stranded on the roads.
The India Meteorological Department has predicted widespread rainfall over Odisha, south Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Telangana during the next two-three days.
