Gwalior, June 15: A train journey turned into a nightmare for a woman on the Gondwana Express when a drunken soldier urinated in his berth, causing it to fall on her while she slept in an AC coach. The woman, traveling with her child, reported the incident, but alleged that the Railway Protection Force (RPF) took no appropriate action. Dissatisfied, she filed complaints with the Prime Minister's Office and the railway minister.

TOI reported that the woman was traveling on the Gondwana Express from Hazrat Nizamuddin to Durg in Chhattisgarh. The woman who was traveling with her child in the B-9 coach on a lower berth, reported that the soldier urinated from the upper berth, leading to the unpleasant situation. Despite the Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel being informed and boarding the train at Gwalior and Jhansi, no action was taken against the soldier, who was found inebriated and in wet trousers. Dissatisfied with the response, the woman filed online complaints with the Prime Minister's Office and the railway minister.

RPF officials stated they responded to the complaint but were unable to locate the woman on her seat. They reported finding the soldier intoxicated and asleep.

In a similar incident, a drunken passenger allegedly urinated on his co-passengers onboard the Sampark Kranti Express traveling from Uttar Pradesh to Delhi. This incident occurred on Wednesday in the B3 coach. North Central Railways spokesperson Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay stated that an elderly couple was sitting on adjacent lower berths when the accused, identified as Ritesh, allegedly drunk, "accidentally" urinated, with a few drops falling on the couple. Ritesh has been charged under Section 145 of the Railway Act, which deals with drunkenness and nuisance.
