Earlier today, Madhya Pradesh Leader of Opposition and BJP leader Gopal Bhargava said he would approach Governor Anandiben Patel to convene a special session of state Assembly, saying that the Congress government is in minority.
"We are sending a letter to the Governor requesting an assembly session as there are a lot of issues... It (the Madhya Pradesh government) will fall on its own. I don't believe in horse-trading but I feel its time has come and it will have to go soon," he said.
This comes a day after the most of the exit polls predicted a comfortable win for BJP-led NDA. According to exit polls, BJP is expected to win 29 Lok Sabha seats in the state, while Congress predicted to win four. In 2018 Assembly election, Congress won 114 seats, only one short of the halfway mark in the 230-seat House. The BSP has two seats, Samajwadi Party one and four independent seats.
