Bhopal, Sept 4: Four of a family were reported dead after the Maruti Omni in which they were travelling fall into the overflowing Besali river in Madhya Pradesh's Bhind.
The accident occurred last night after the family, which belongs to Indore, was returning from Pilibhit where they had went earlier in the day to attend a Jai Gurudev event.
The deceased have been identified as Om Prakash Pateriya, a transporter by profession, along with his wife Lata Pateriya and two children - a son and a daughter - whose names could not be confirmed by the time this report was published.
Three other family members were rescued by the locals and rushed to the nearest medical facility where they are condition was reported to be safe. The bodies of the deceased, meanwhile, were seized by the police and sent for post-mortem.

The Besali river in Bhind has been flowing 12 feet above the normal mark due to the incessant rainfall over the last couple of days. On Saturday, villages in Bhind region were subjected to flood-like situation. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has been kept on alert.
