Chandigarh, June 13: In a tragic incident, an elderly man in Punjab's Ludhiana lost his life after the wall of his house collapsed due to heavy rainfall on Wednesday. According to a report by The Tribune, the incident took place at Kakowal village near Basti Jodhewal in Ludhiana when the wall of an under-construction building collapsed in Daresi. The 50-year-old man has been identified as Kapil Dev, who worked at a printing press. According to reports, when strong winds and a heavy downpour rainfall gripped the city, the side wall of his house fell on him. As soon as the incident was reported, he was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. Reports inform that several others had a miraculous escape on Wednesday.

The report informs that the wind speed was so strong that the wall, on the second floor, collapsed. A number of shops on the ground floor where several people were present, were also damaged. Meanwhile, trees, electricity polls and power transformers were uprooted while several vehicles got buried under the debris.
