Lucknow Traffic Police Ropes ‘Yamraj’ for Road Safety Campaign

The Lucknow Traffic Police has come up with a unique road safety campaign, Lord Yamaraj, the god of death is out on the roads of Lucknow to spread road safety awareness in the capital city.

Lucknow, November 27: The Lucknow Traffic Police has come up with a unique road safety campaign, Lord Yamaraj, the god of death is out on the roads of Lucknow to spread road safety awareness in the capital city. A man dressed as 'Yamraj' participated in the road safety drive on Tuesday. The novel campaign by the city police is in collaboration with HDFC Bank Limited. Bengaluru Police Deploys Lord Ganesha for Campaigns Road Safety Awareness.

In the campaign, 'Traffic Paathshala' a person dressed as 'Yamraja' is deployed across the city with several volunteers to make people aware about road safety.

Earlier in a similar campaign, A man dressed as 'Lord Ganesh' asked people to follow traffic rules in Bengaluru. Lord Ganesh proclaimed that “A small mistake can be deathly. Obey traffic rules and protect your life.”

This comes after a report shows alarming statistics about the number of accidents in India. Nearly, 2,336 accidents were reported till June-end of this year. With innovative initiatives like these, traffic police are aiming to raise awareness among motorists and pedestrians about the importance of traffic safety to minimise accident.
