Lucknow, August 4: In a shocking incident in Uttar Pradesh, a 40-year-old woman approached the police recently and lodged a complaint against her husband claiming that he was pressurising her to have sex with an African man. The woman also alleged that her husband demanded dowry and harassed her to watch pornography. The complainant, a resident of Lucknow's Naka area also said that her used to beat her and snatch her money when she protested.

According to a report in the Times of India, the alleged incident occurred when the coupe were in China. She also stated that she came back to Lucknow after getting timely help from the Indian Embassy in China. After coming back to Lucknow, the woman lodged a complaint against her husband with the Naka police station. Woman Alleges Husband Used to Beat Her

In her letter to the police, the woman said that her husband worked for a company in China. She also claimed that her parents paid INR 15 lakh as dowry in the first week of her marriage. Initially, the woman's husband went to China alone but came back after she pleaded to him. However, she alleged that her husband used to drink and beat her on a daily basis.

Complainant Claims Being Harassed for Dowry

Speaking about harassment, the woman said that her husband and in-laws started taunting her after she gave birth to a girl child. The complainant further claimed that her husband snatched her visa, ticket and INR 2 lakh while they were returning to Lucknow due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She also stated she was being harassed again for dowry by her in-laws.

'Husband Stole Jewellery Worth INR 10 Lakh'

On September 11, 2022, when the woman was departing for China, her husband is said to have snatched INR 2.5 lakh from her. She alleged that he beat her when she protested. The complainant also said that her husband stole her jewellery worth INR 10 lakh and fled. Later, the woman returned back to China with her husband on March 4 but complained to the Indian Embassy fearing threat to her life. Acting on the woman's complaint, the police have launched a probe in connection with the incident.
