Lucknow, September 28: In a shocking incident, a Class 11 student died after she jumped off the Gomti Riverfront in Lucknow. The unfortunate incident took place early on Thursday after the girl had left home to reach her school. The girl left a suicide note which mentioned the reason for her extreme step was rejection by a boy.

The matter was reported after a security guard present near the Gomti Riverfront saw the girl jumping off the bridge.

The police recovered the suicide note from her bag, which read, "My dear mummy papa, I would have been alive had he not rejected me."

In the note, the girl also urged her parents to not hold the boy in question responsible for her act. In the note, she further wrote that “Ankit, i would have been alive had you not rejected me.” However, she also mentioned that she was solely responsible for her act.

The girl's body was sent for postmortem and further investigations into the case were underway, the police said.

This comes days after a youth allegedly died by suicide, reportedly due to distress over losing his mobile phone in Hyderabad. Sources reveal that his family members discovered him hanging in his residence on Sunday morning. A case has been registered in connection with the matter. The deceased was identified as Nitish Raj, aged 26.
