Lucknow Rains: All Government & Private Schools to Be Closed on July 31 Due to Bad Weather

In the past week, 69 people have been in rain-related incidents in Uttar Pradesh as heavy rains wreaked havoc in different parts of the state. According to a report by TOI, despite good rainfall over the past few days, nearly half of the city has been facing high rainfall deficit.

Lucknow, July 30: In the wake of heavy rainfall in Lucknow, all government and private schools in the city will be closed on Tuesday, July 31, as a precautionary measure. According to a tweet by ANI, classes till std 5 in all government and private schools in Kanpur will also remain closed on Tuesday due to heavy rain in the city.

In the past week, 69 people have lost their lives in rain-related incidents in Uttar Pradesh as heavy rains wreaked havoc in different parts of the state. Reports inform that despite good rainfall over the past few days, nearly half of Lucknow has been facing high rainfall deficit.

According to a PTI report, as many as 69 have been killed since Thursday while 86 people have been injured in rain-related incidents in Uttar Pradesh after heavy rains pounded different parts of the state. The maximum of 11 deaths was reported from Saharanpur, followed by other places. "Sixty-nine persons have been killed and 86 injured in the rain-related incidents in the state since Thursday," Relief Commissioner Sanjay Prasad told PTI.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed senior officials of all districts to alert people and asked them to undertake extensive tours in the affected areas and identify dilapidated buildings and get them vacated, a government spokesperson said here.
