Lucknow, March 3: In an incident that has made the residents of Lucknow scared, three men who came on a bike shot at four people and looted a jewellery shop in Krishnanagar area on Saturday night. The incident happened around 9.30 pm on Saturday. The spot where the crime took place is located close to a police post which is hardly 200 metres away and yet there was no police personnel in the area at the time, reported the Times of India. The three accused came on a bike and two of them entered the jewellery shop. Meanwhile, the person riding the bike did not park it as per the plan and was ready to carry the other two and flee as soon as they came out of the shop.

The two accused entered the shop, when the jeweller RK Gupta was and another woman with him were about to close the shop. They point a gun to him and told him to hand over the money and jewellery. Gupta then asked for a few minutes to take out money and jewellery from the safe but tried to contact the police.

When the accused noticed it, they shot at Gupta's back and the woman. Guddu Patwa, an employee at the shop came forward to help Gupta was also shot at. Hearing the gunshots, the ATM guard closeby to confront the accused but he was shot in the chest.

Soon, the accused ran away with jewellery and money worth Rs 4 lakh. Jeweller Gupta and the woman are seriously injured whereas Guddu Patwa and guard Deshraj died of gun wounds. The locals came out in large numbers and protested alleging police inaction in the case. The accused are still at large even as the police is investigating the matter.
