New Delhi, January 1: The price of non-subsidised LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) has been hiked Rs 19 per cylinder from Wednesday. The price of the cooking gas will be effective from New Year, i.e. January 1, 2020. The prices of the cooking gas has seen a surge since the last five months. According to Indian Oil Corporation, which supplies LPG under the Indane brand, informed that with the new hike of Rs 19, the price of 14.2 kg LPG cylinder has now been revised to Rs 714 in Delhi, Rs 684.50 in Mumbai , Rs 747 in Kolkata and Rs 734 in Chennai.
In October 2018, the price of the cooking gas was hiked by Rs 15 per cylinder. The state-run fuel retailers change LPG cylinder rates every month, based on international benchmark rates. Reports informed that till December 31, a 14.2 kg liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder was priced at Rs 695 in New Delhi.

According to a report by Mint, the price of a 19 kg LPG cylinder has been revised to Rs 1241 in Delhi, Rs 1308.50 in Kolkata, Rs 1190 in Mumbai and Rs 1363 in Chennai. In September, the rates of LPG cylinder had seen a low of Rs 590 in Delhi following a plunge in the international market over US-China trade tensions.
