London, August 4: Several Kashmiri separatist outfits are supporting the Sikh for Justice’s (SFJ) non-binding referendum. The SFJ is holding the referendum throughout the world demanding the independence of Punjab. According to a report published in India Today, several Kashmiri separatist outfits have extended their support to a global pro-Khalistan event on August 12 in London. The announcement to participate in the August 12 event on 'London Declaration on Referendum 2020' was made by Pro-Kashmiri Independence groups in a joint press conference that took place in London. They also reaffirmed their support for the independence of Punjab.
According to the report, Naeem Abbasi, Javid Iqbal, Muzmmil Thakur and Armaan Aalim (Barrister) extended their support to the Sikh peoples' ongoing campaign of Referendum 2020 for Khalistan. The press conference of World Kashmir Freedom Movement, Kashmir Patriotic Forum International and Overseas Pakistani Welfare Organisation which was held on August 2 was hosted by the UK based Khalistani activists Paramjeet Singh Pamma. India had tried to extradite Pamma from Portugal on trumped-up charges, but was unsuccessful.
"It is the principle of the right to self-determination and the common occupying power India that brings Sikh and Kashmiri people on a joint platform in their democratic quest for freedom of their homelands", reported India Today quoting attorney Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, legal advisor to Sikh For Justice (SFJ) as saying. Pannun further added that On August 12, SFJ would unveil the case for Sikhs right to self-determination as guaranteed in UN Charter and International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
SFJ is holding "London Declaration" on August 12 at Trafalgar Square. The aim of the event is to spread among the world community an awareness about Sikh peoples' right of self-determination. India has also issued a demarché to the United Kingdom on Wednesday over the issue of allowing permission to hold “London Declaration. Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar urged the UK to ensure such activities should not be allowed.
